Just sharing my first pre-nup shoot that I did last weekend for my friends "Gummy Bear" and "Potchi". Well technically its a Pre-pre-nup shoot since we're scheduled for Bolinao the next weekend for the actual shoot and this is a sort of a 'test shoot' if you may :D . Just to try out different poses and of course, build chemistry so we'll all be comfortable with each other during the actual shoot. With this, I guess I'm a step closer, though still a million miles away from my idol, Nelwin Uy  :)) . It still baffles me how he does his PP, is it the saturation? sharpening? or just simply the shot??? hmmmm... I guess I'll just learn along the way :)

It's been ages since my last post and if Mica was here, she'll be telling me "oi! Mag update ka!" :)) Well I have a very reasonable excuse naman for my backlogs and that is because I'm finally doing what I set out to do. I'm living my life to the fullest and have been squeezing every bit of activity that my weekends and vacation leaves can accommodate and I guess blogging just didn't make the list. Cause seriously, I'd rather stuffed my camera rather than my laptop inside my backpack during my trips. Can't have them both though, that would be a backbreaker :) excuses excuses... :))

Anyhoo, one my recent trips was at Pampanga during the Hot Air Balloon Festival. I was with three other bloggers and a Pokemon. Darwin, the comically-dramatic one; the great and almighty Marky; Cai the diva and apple of Darwin's eye; and ofcourse there was Snorlax :D  and as much as I want to elaborate further, this post is all about Cai and not about that trip. Cai recently started a  weekly project entitled "project 52 looks" on her blog, PinkUrinal.com and with that, I finally have her approval to post my photos of her during our Bolinao trip. So Darwin, enjoy :))

It's been three years since I got to taste an Indian mango fruit picked from the lonesome tree in our backyard. Because of the typhoons and some man made occurrences, the flower never bloomed for three years. I thought that would be it, I'll never get back the days when I crave to eat mangoes and all I have to do is go outside and jump and grab some. So I'm a bit surprised and ecstatic after seeing these :)

:D more photos after the jump

Photo by Master Olga Villanueva :D
I finally climbed my first mountain last weekend thanks to my friend Olga. Weeee! :D well, not exactly 'climbed' and this wasn't really my idea of  how I would conquer my very first mountain since we rode a jitney all the way to the top. But, I'm not one to past this rare chance to ascend and take pictures from the summit of Mount Kabuyao in Benguet. And though there wasn't much hiking involved, I still got the chance to walk around trying to find picturesque scenes over, above and below the mountain top and bring home some souvenirs. See my souvenirs after the jump :D

The year 2010 just ended after I took a snap of that photo above. I closed my eyes and thank God for the wonderful healthy year that was again added under my belt. I have to say 2010 is one of the most fruitful year I've had for the last 23 years of my existence. It started with me having a good-paying job (well that's because I'm in the province :)) No starbucks to drained you here, 7 pesos lang ang 3-in-1 ngarud! :D ) that allowed me to offset my liabilities versus my assets... finally.... Two, the experience I gained with my current job, processing general documents, attending court hearing, countless hours of interacting with government employees and whilst most of the time irritating, I consider it priceless. Those were real-life lessons that I have not learnt in college but will surely serve me well in the future. And though my job is starting to get really frustrating at times, I have things still to be thankful for such as the friendship I share with my colleagues/ supervisor. Which I think is what still keeps me going. 'Dahil sa kanila, nasa work pa rin ako, at sumisweldo pa rin' =)) better be frustrated lang than be broke and frustrated :))

Ringing in the New Year! :)
Wooott...I just got home from a drinking session with a couple of my best buds and I really feel like blogging at 1:12 AM in the morning. It seems that I really am suffering from a disorder where I feel the effects of things in reverse (well that's according to my girl who's in the field of medicine) its just like how alcohol keeps me awake and energize while coffee tends to make me sleepy. :)  Anyway, I was scheduled to meet my two friends at a Bar and Resto for a couple of drinks, but I was a bit too early. So while I was waiting for them, I did a little tinkering with my camera and did some light painting to kill time. I've been meaning to this stuff after reading this post from Adaphobic.com late 2008, but never really had the chance or the willingness to do so... well not until tonight. :)) check out my other shots after the jump :)

In relation to my previous post about the Yongnou Speedlite 460-II, I got the chance to borrow my friend, Princess Dee's D90, she does make-up for all kinds of event by the way, a certified make-up artist for a fraction of the cost, you can PM me here or go to her facebook page MakeUpbyPrincessDee for more details :D  Anyway, back to her camera, the Nikon D90 has a built-in remote that could be use to trigger an external flash thus giving me the perfect opportunity to try out the YN460-II as a slave flash. So far, I'm satisfied with this trial shot given that I was in a rush (had to go to a post-Christmas party hosted by Princess as well, she's also a chef btw =D> ) and never really had time to atleast arrange the set (my room/dump site :)) ). Please excuse the model too, I had no one else with me that time except for my tripod so live with it! /wahaha
See the photo after the jump and be amazed... or nauseated... your call :D

First of all, I have no idea know what was going through my mind when I thought of that title, but hey, it’s there, so live with it :D Anyway, just recently, I finally bought an external flash to be partnered with my Nikon D40. You see, I’ve been learning my stuff at DIY Photography and I came across an article that says : to be able to master photography, I must learn how to master lighting and besides the camera, a good external flash should be more of a priority to invest in rather than lenses for those who truly wants to learn the basics of photography. So after reading that, I scoured the web for quality, less expensive (okay, cheapest :D ) external flash and found this Yongnou Speedlite YN460-II. I read some reviews about it, and learned that its use is comparable to the Nikon SB-600, but of course with less features and you don’t get to have the ‘NIKON’ logo in front of it to boast around. But, for a quarter of the price of an SB-600, I’d rather print ‘NIKON’ on a sticker paper and stick it on a Youngnou :D . Some advanced photographers may say otherwise about its comparison to the SB-600, but hey, I’m a noob, I’ll believe anything :D

December 25, 2010 at 11:25 PM – Here I am staring blankly at my computer, sitting alone in my room, getting deaf with silence, thinking “tis the season to be jolly, huh?”… hmmmm… it’s supposed to be Christmas,  the time when people should be at their happiest, being with their family and all that, it just seems the’ Christmas cheers’ just didn’t get through me after all. I should be sleeping right now to fast-forward time, but the Christmas blues just won’t let me, so I figured I might as well write about it here just to get it out of my system…  damn… depression sucks big time!
